While the prevalence of remote work was already at an all-time high before the coronavirus pandemic, its use skyrocketed following citywide lockdowns and the need for social distancing. Businesses that may not have ever considered remote work before found themselves scrambling to adopt new processes, while others began extending and formalizing existing policies.
