What is WiFi 6 and Why is it Important to a Small/Medium Business?

How WiFi 6 can be implemented in the SMB environments

Over the years, WiFi has become a must-have on laptop computers, tablets, televisions, video game consoles, and smart phones, and other IoTs. With online content evolving to high bandwidth and high-quality video content, one would only wonder why SMB’s don’t already upgrade to WiFi 6. WiFi 6 generally would not be wholeheartedly used until year 2021 (upgraded IoT devices, upgraded endpoints, and etc). In the life cycle of 802.11, enterprises and customer products do not generally adopt the latest technologies until a few years after the ratification of the IEEE standard.

Report Snap Shot

  • IOT hardware, which would benefit from WiFi 6 battery performance due to TWT
  • Home and SMB WiFi would considerably become faster and more reliable due to higher throughput and more coverage
  • Improved capabilities in audio/video systems due to reduced latency with OFDMA
  • Large environments with multiple Access Points can have less signal interference
