5 Simple Techniques to Increase Your Work Producti

For every company, there is nothing more important than their employees. If they are happy, everything will work fine and their productivity will be at its finest and the company will grow. Likewise, if they are not satisfied, their productivity will suffer and the company will not grow. Making small changes to everyday tasks and habits can really make the difference and can drastically improve office efficiency and productivity.

Working productively will allow you to get more work done in shorter periods of time and will reduce the amount of time spent on unimportant tasks as well. There is no need to drastically change your work or life routine, as we said earlier, even the smallest things can make the biggest impact. For example, you could completely turn off your phone during set time periods or you could just block push notification from distracting apps. Here are some of the best tips that can help you work smarter, not harder.

1. Delegate what you can

If your position allows you to delegate tasks, you should definitely try doing so. Yes, it comes with an element of risk, but increasing responsibilities of your staff can drastically improve their morale and job satisfaction. It also gives you more time to concentrate on what's really important. Give responsibilities only to employees that have shown their capabilities with an excellent track record in the certain business areas. By giving your employees a chance to improve their skills and progress in their careers, they will be grateful and will be even more dedicated to working on specific tasks.

2. Maintain a positive attitude

The way you think can greatly affect your perception of what is going on around you as well as how you relate to other people. By having positive thoughts and a positive attitude will not only strengthen interpersonal relations with colleagues but will also make certain issues seems less problematic. When you’re a person that is pleasant to work with, there’s a greater chance that you will frequently collaborate with other people, therefore they’ll be more eager to help you when problems occur.

3. Break down big tasks into smaller ones

Whenever you have a big and complicated project to deal with, thinking about it can become overwhelming. You could end up being really stressed about it and even end up procrastinating and delaying it for later. A strategy that works well almost every time is breaking it down into smaller pieces and dealing with those pieces one at a time. By doing this you’ll get a sense of progress and eventually find that you’ve almost completed that big, complicated task.

For example, breaking the annual report into small sections and subsections and then writing a couple of them each day.

4. Use the right apps, tools, and equipment

Arming yourself with the right apps, tools, and equipment is really important. By doing so you will perform and accomplish your tasks in less time and with greater efficiency. There’s nothing worse than waiting for a document to be printed only because you have a slow computer or an old printing device.

By using the latest technology you will not only increase your productivity but also improve the perception of your company to outside spectators as a more modern and forward-thinking organization.

5. Take short breaks more often

A great way to boost productivity is to take regular short breaks rather than taking one big one. These breaks can help you relax, reenergize, recharge, break the monotony, boost motivation and even reduce mistakes that could happen due to burnout or exhaustion.

You should try making time for at least 2 short breaks a day, not counting the one for lunch. What you should do during these breaks is walking, listening to music, stretching, talking to a friend or anything that takes your mind off your work.
